How much does it cost to open a store?

Our initial Franchise Fee is $20,000.00, plus applicable taxes, as well as a monthly royalty fee of 4% on gross monthly sales.

What support do I get when I open a store?

We start with finding your store location and work with you to negotiate the lease. After the construction phase and store layout plans are completed, the product is ordered and we prepare your store for Grand Opening!

Our support doesn’t stop after the Grand Opening!

Your access to a vast amount of information on our members-only intranet and your introduction to industry tradeshows and regional meetings are a few tools at your fingertips to support you and grow your business.

Gift cards can be used at any participating Great Canadian Dollar Store for any in-store merchandise, excluding gift cards.

Do Great Canadian Dollar Store gift cards have a cash value?

Our gift cards must be used toward purchases only, and have no cash value except as required by law.

Does a Great Canadian Dollar Store gift card expire?

Our gift cards never expire!

What if my gift card has been damaged, lost, or stolen

Gift cards should be treated like cash. Gift cards cannot be replaced if damaged, lost, or stolen.

Can I use my Great Canadian Dollar Store gift card to purchase another Great Canadian Dollar Store gift card?

No.  A Great Canadian Dollar Store gift card cannot be redeemed towards the purchase of another gift card.

Is there a gift card purchase minimum or maximum?

A Great Canadian Dollar Store gift card is perfect for any occasion! Our gift cards can be loaded with any amount between $5 and $150.

What are the terms and conditions?

Present this Gift Card as payment towards your purchases and the business will deduct the purchase amount from the available value on this Gift Card.

This Gift Card can only be used for the purchase of goods at participating Great Canadian Dollar Stores in Canada.

This Gift Card is non-refundable and has no cash value, except as required by law.

This Gift Card has no value until activated by the cashier.

Gift Cards must be physically present to be used.

This Gift Card will not be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed.

The current balance of this Gift Card can be viewed on your receipt, obtained in-store, or on our website www.dollarstores.com

Use of this Gift Card constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

This Gift Card is not redeemable for cash.

This Gift Card cannot be used at ATMs.

This Gift Card can be deactivated at any time if fraud is suspected.

There is no fee to use the card.

Funds on account do not expire.

This is not a credit or debit card and its use will not enhance/affect your credit rating.

You agree to allow us to reduce from the balance of the card each time you use the card to purchase goods. If due to a system malfunction, a transaction occurs that creates a negative balance, you agree to pay said negative balance upon demand.

This Gift Card remains the property of the Great Canadian Dollar Store.

Disputes will be resolved with the Merchant, and you understand that the Great Canadian Dollar Stores are operated by independent franchisees. Great Canadian Dollar Stores, owner of the card, is not liable for any merchandise or disputes associated with the use of the card or the merchandise being purchased.

From time to time, card services may be inoperative and during this time, the gift card may not be able to be used. Neither the merchant or Great Canadian Dollar Stores is liable for any interruption of services.

The Gift Card cannot be canceled or refunded.

We can assign our rights under this card without advance notice to you.
